KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 — Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today explained that he never met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Paris Air Show in France last June, as previously reported.

In a brief media statement issued by Special Officer (Media) Abd Halim Ab Majid here today, it was explained that Ahmad Zahid had instead met with Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak during a cocktail function at the air show.

Previous reports mentioned Ahmad Zahid meeting with Netanyahu during the Paris Air Show in France last June to explain Malaysia’'s stance on the West Asia issue.

Ahmad Zahid is currently in Lebanon on a six-day visit. — Bernama
